Lab Tools

1. Beaker A short fat container with a wide mouth and a spout for pouring. Can be used for mixing or measuring but not very accurate.
2. Graduated Cylinder A tall skinny container with a small mouth used to accurately measure liquids.
3. Test Tube long, round, narrow glass container, sealed and rounded at one end, used in laboratories.
4. Triple Beam Balance An instrument for measuring mass. It has three bars, a tray, and weights.
5. Pipette A slender granduated tube used in a laboratory for measuring and transferring quantities of liquids from one container to another.
6. Thermometer Laboratory device used to measure temperature.
7. Hot Plate A small portable self-contained tabletop appliance that features one or more burners. In laboratory settings, they are generally used to heat glassware or its contents.
8. Meter Stick A rod or stick one meter in length that is graduated and used for measuring length.

9. Microscope

An instrument that makes small obects, sometimes too small to be seen with a human eye, appear larger.
10. Spring Scale A type of scale consisting of a spring fixed at one end with a hok to attach an object at the other.
